In May 2013 GLS Foodservice Designs were appointed by Telford College of Arts and Technology to design their training facilities in the new Hospitality Suite. The focus of the building and facilities was to have the most effective and high quality teaching and learning environment that reflects a realistic working kitchen and restaurant.

The facilities comprise of two training kitchens and bar area. Training kitchen 1 is a restaurant style for level 2 & 3 students giving the experience of a commercial kitchen environment and operation whilst having a lecturer and student work stations for the provision of teaching 20 students.

Training kitchen 2 for level 1 & 2 students comprising of a lecturer station and island student work stations having their own preparation and cooking facilities, one of the work stations being also suitable for wheelchair students, having a hydro lift system to raise and lower each section.

Each kitchen caters for a central restaurant area, with kitchen 1 offering additionally function and silver service. An order was placed for GLS to supply and install the kitchen and bar equipment in August 2013 with a project programme to complete by the first week in November 2013, after half term. Working closely with all the various contractors following the issuing of our M & E and elevation drawings the kitchens and bar were installed within the three weeks allocated in the programme and the project handover was as scheduled with the facility operational the first week in November 2013.
